Where is everyone?

Hi everyone!
I was hoping that someone would post some of their work on the blog by now! I know everyone is busy but I think we should all stay up to date and in touch!
I'm working at the Daily Sentinel here in Grand Junction now. I'm their online graphic artist and I am really enjoying it. I work with Flash and Photoshop mainly, but Flash 8 has gotten complex enough that I could work at it for the next 5 years and still not know everything. Right now I'm researching integrating video and Flash. One good thing-- my coding skills have gotten a lot better!
I'm also expecting my 3rd child in August. She is a girl and we are naming her Erin Elizabeth. I think moving here was a good thing. My kids love it and I'm glad not to be pregnant in the Las Vegas summer heat!!! it's hot enough here and we are usually about 10 degrees cooler than Vegas.
Ok, so the last few blogs have been mine......Time for someone else to post for a while!!!

Hey guys! I contributed to a book about getting into film or media-based colleges. They accepted my submissions and I received the book today! WOW! So here is a copy of my press release for Grand Junction. I've already been asked for interviews from the local paper here and my hometown paper in Missouri! (This is going to look GREAT on my resume!)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Local Filmmaker Contributes To New Film School Book

Las Vegas, Nevada, December 5, 2006 – Angela Blehi, Grand Junction resident, recently contributed to a new book that reveals the secrets to applying to and succeeding in a film or media-based college. Schools such as USC, UCLA, NYU and numerous others will receive an astronomical number of applications from wanna-be filmmakers from all corners of the globe. Most of these film students will be turned away from their college of choice.

“Film School & Beyond” is a new book that has just been released by the media-based career coaching company – Farview Point. In the book, past and current film students from around the country were asked to discuss their experiences in and out of film school and to help answer many of the key questions any young up-and-coming filmmaker might have about film school and the film industry as a whole.

Angi attended Heritage College and ITT Technical Institute, Las Vegas. She received her Associates Degree in Drafting & Design/Multimedia from ITT Tech. Angi also attended The Art Institute of Las Vegas where she studied Visual Effects and Motion Graphics.

Ms. Blehi is currently working on a collaborative project with some of her former classmates. They have formed a production company called Midnight Oil Media and are working on an independent horror movie that they hope to send to film festivals in 2008. Angela is also the creator of Stone Gallows Productions and is currently working on a documentary detailing the effects of methamphetamine on today’s children.

“Film School & Beyond” is available now at Amazon.com or by visiting www.farviewpoint.com

Neat, huh?
Also, I hope to be posting again soon. I was contacted by a headhunter for Leet Recruiting. They are looking for a 3D animator for a gaming company in Boulder, CO. They saw my resume on Monster and want me to send in examples of my work! Wish me luck!

Love u guys!

Living in Colorado

Well I think everyone pretty much knows now, but I am living in Colorado now. It's very pretty here and so much more relaxed than Vegas. Things got crappy for a while in Vegas. Johnathan and I are separated. Long story, but I think the kids will like it here. They are in Oklahoma for now, until I can get a place to live. I am staying with Johnathan's family. They have been SO good to me. They've really helped me whenever I needed it. I am working, but not in the field. But I have been talking to the advertising manager of the local newpaper and he has an online graphic artist position opening up at the beginning of the year. He said I'm the lead candidate, so hopefully that will come through! I can't do any side work right now though, because I have no computer. My laptop and both my desktops are down! :(
So I have NO creative flow right now! Except that I have been going to the park and doing sketches. I take my nieces and nephews on Sundays and we go to the park and they play and I sketch. It's fun until the weather changes again. The trees are all different colors of gold, yellow, red....it's gorgeous!
I hope we all keep in touch and I can't believe that no one has posted any new work since Richard's post in April! C'mon guys! Scott, I KNOW you have some new greenscreen shots. Let's get them up there! I will post my newest work as soon as I get the computer running. Love you all! Angi

New Job

Hey guys!
Just thought I'd post a quick update about how things are going.

I started the Visual Effects program at Art Institute. Unfortunately, after missing some class due to car problems, moving, etc. I was withdrawn. I hope to go back around Sept.

It worked out though, because I started a new job as a Flash Programmer at GTTlearn.com. Some of my Flash work is on the website. They are a full-service studio, everything from scriptwriting to video to Flash interfaces. I am learning alot and having a lot of fun there.

I just got out of the hospital this week. I was very sick and almost died from a ruptured kidney. Those of you that really know me, know that I usually have a 1L of CocaCola sitting next to me at all times. That bad habit almost killed me. I have dropped soda from my diet, so it's juice and water for me for now on. I've also dropped 14 lbs since I got out of the hospital, so there is a silver lining!

I hope everyone is doing well. Keep following those dreams! They might not lead you where you think they will, but they'll lead you somewhere interesting! Post some of your recent work for the rest of us to see. It's fun seeing how much everyone's skills have improved. If you have an online portfolio, post a link to it so we can check it out!

Take care and Luv ya all,
Angi

Happy Graduation!!!!

Well, I congratulate everyone that graduated recently on Sept 9th! To those soon to graduate, we'll be there, cheering you on! We've had some big changes recently. The remainder of the class graduated, Angi, Tonja, Scott, and Jennifer, all have decided that our pathways are leading places other than ITT Tech. Personally, I am incredibly grateful for all that Itt taught me, and I truly enjoyed my time there. I learned alot, but now it's time for my career path to take me other places. After carefully evaluating where my career would be headed if I continued on at ITT, I chose to opt out of the Game Design program and further pursue my education at the Art Institute of Las Vegas. I will be taking Visual Effects & Motion Graphics with Scott, Tonja is signing up for Digital Media Productions, and Jen is continuing on with Game Design, but changing schools. The Visual Effects and Motion Graphics program has some courses that I am REALLY REALLY excited about! I hope we all keep in touch and keep posting on this blog. Please feel free to post any new artwork, pictures of you & yours, or anything you just find interesting. Take care!

Report on Video Shoot 12/20/04

We had a great video shoot last night. It was fairly productive and a lot of fun! The people attending the shoot were: Scott, Jennifer, Dustin, Cecy, Angi, and Tonja. We got some really great shots and hope to finish up shooting next Monday.
We went to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and also to the east side of the airport, at Sunset and Eastern, where we got some really nice shots of the planes coming in directly over our heads.
We kinda got a late start, so we are pushing back the time of the next shoot on 12/27/04 to 7:00 pm to allow everyone time to get there.
Check back soon for updates and pictures from the shoot last night!

(Anyone who has still pictures of the shoot can either email them to me or post them themselves, so that we can have some pictures up on the blog.)

(The picture below was added on accident, its a 3d scene I made last month. I was trying to figure out how to post the pictures as I am new at this too! :) -Angi )

Revised Production Shoot Schedule:
12/27/04 Meet in front of RumJungle at Mandalay Bay at 7:00 pm.
We will be concentrating on filming the Strip.

1/8/05 ITT On-Site Shoot during regularly scheduled class at 1:00 pm

MERRY CHRISTMAS :)
